The profession of social work in Iran dates back to 1961. By examining the available evidences and texts, we will find that social workers in Iran have always tried to help people in need of society and empower them, exercise their professional-guild rights, and raise the profession as a specialized and academic discipline.
A critical look at the statutes of the Association of Social Workers of Iran
With all the hardships and adversities in society and the lack of systemic views about the needy and the socially injured, social workers are not able to take effective steps by mobilizing facilities and services in order to empower the needy and the injured in society. Unfortunately, despite the two trade and scientific associations of social work in the country, the social work profession has not yet been able to achieve its proper position in the country.Association of Social Workers of Iran
In order to achieve this position, the Association of Social Workers or the Association of Social Workers of Iran must create an atmosphere of empathy, dialogue and fair criticism to prepare the space for the demands of the Iranian social workers community.
In order to create empathy and harmony in the society of social workers of the country, it is necessary that the board of directors of the Association of Social Workers of Iran take effective steps in order to build trust between the association and the social worker community of the country by reviewing the statutes of the Association and changes in it and acting on some of its forgotten articles and notes.
In order to create areas of empathy and trust in the social workers community of the country, it is recommended that the board of directors of the association pay attention to the following:1-With the aim of preventing monopoly in the association and preventing the recognition of the association in the name of a particular person instead of the association of social workers, like most scientific, political, cultural and social associations for membership in the central board of the association, a two-term limit should be considered.
Unfettered membership in the board of directors causes personalization of the association, discouragement of young people, and grounds for the pursuit of a particular individual’s personal interests and underlying the playing band.Association of Social Workers of Iran
2- In the third chapter of article 15 of the statute and note 1, it is mentioned that the branches of the Association in the provincial centers will be governed by a panel composed of two persons elected by the members of the branch and appointed with the approval of the Central Board. But so far, I have not seen the call for provincial elections personally, and most of the selection of provincial branch officials has been made by the central board and without the opinions and opinions of provincial social workers, which causes empathy and intimacy in the social worker community of the country to be diminished and sometimes a person in charge of the provincial branch who, according to the rest of the social workers living in that province, does not meet the requirements of qualifications.Association of Social Workers of Iran

4-In the first chapter of the statute and article 1, it is necessary to redefine the definition of a social work specialist and redefined as a person who has at least one undergraduate encyclopedia from one of the universities approved by the Ministry of Science or the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
Currently, the minimum level of university education is undergraduate and the Ministry of Science and Health has been reviewing the elimination of associate degrees in their fields.
