Condemning the Zionist Regime’s Attacks on Iran and the Killing of Social Workers and Innocent Civilians
MadadkarNews, the official news platform of Iranian social workers, strongly condemns the recent brutal and unlawful attacks by the Zionist regime on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which have led to the tragic deaths and injuries of dozens of innocent civilians — including women, children, and the elderly.
Among the victims of these inhumane assaults:
-
The Evin Prison in Tehran was directly targeted by missile strikes, resulting in the martyrdom of over 80 individuals, including five social workers and a five-year-old child who was accompanying one of the female social workers at the time of the attack.
-
Simultaneously, the Rehabilitation and Welfare Center of Behzisti in Qasr-e-Shirin (Kermanshah province) was bombarded, causing the complete destruction of its vital infrastructure and severely disrupting the ongoing support and treatment services to vulnerable populations.
-
Extensive damage to the national energy grid, communication lines, and civilian infrastructure in multiple provinces has resulted in serious human and economic consequences.
Gross Violation of International Law
These attacks constitute war crimes under international law and represent flagrant violations of the following conventions:
-
The Fourth Geneva Convention (1949), which protects civilian persons in time of war and prohibits direct attacks on prisons and civilian institutions.
-
The 1977 Additional Protocols to the Geneva Conventions, specifically Articles 51 and 52, which explicitly ban attacks on civilian objects and humanitarian personnel.
-
The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (1998), which defines the deliberate targeting of civilians and non-military facilities as among the most serious international crimes.
Our Call to Action
We, the collective voice of Iran’s social workers, alongside human rights defenders and civil society organizations, demand immediate action from the international community:
-
The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): to establish an independent fact-finding mission to investigate the attacks.
-
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC): to ensure urgent humanitarian access to affected detainees, staff, and survivors at Evin Prison and Qasr-e-Shirin.
-
The Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC): to initiate a formal investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators and orchestrators of these war crimes.
-
Global social work associations and NGOs: to issue public statements and offer support to the victims and their families.

Our Commitment
MadadkarNews is committed to being the voice of the voiceless. Through responsible journalism and detailed documentation, we will not allow these crimes to be forgotten or go unpunished.
We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and affirm that the mission of serving humanity and defending human dignity will continue with even greater determination — lit by the sacred blood of those who gave their lives in service.
🕊️ May their souls rest in peace. May their path remain alive.
