In an exclusive interview, Dr. Javad Taleshchi Yekta, editor-in-chief of the news website MadadkarNews, discussed his long-standing dispute with the Social Workers’ Association of Iran and some of its board members. He stressed that the views of him over the past 15 years were based on false and malicious information sent to Tehran by a person in Gilan. According to him, this information was fabricated and full of malice.
Dr. Taleshchi Yekta’s explanation of past events
In the interview, Dr. Taleshchi Yekta stated that attempts to sideline him for 15 years have been unsuccessful and the truth is now gradually becoming clear to everyone. He said, “When these individuals became more familiar with my life and professional situation, they came to a completely different conclusion and realized that the information conveyed by a person in Gilan was fabricated and full of malice.”
He added that the views of the opposing parties no longer matter to him and that he has a stable and clear personal, professional, and media life. He emphasized, “Those who only got to know us based on fabricated information… should stay in the same position and maintain the same view.”
Details and the future of relationships
In another part of his speech, Dr. Taleshchi mentioned having access to confidential information, saying that he has been aware for years of the details of joint decisions made in Tehran and Gilan against him, but for various reasons, he had not found it appropriate to disclose them until now. Citing an example from the day he resigned as the managing director of the National Association of Social Work Clinics, he said he heard the insults and blame from the malicious individual in the province with his own ears, and the details of how this confidential conversation was transferred would remain secret forever.
He concluded by expressing regret about the potential consequences of a permanent end to his relationship with the Social Workers’ Association and certain individuals in Tehran and Gilan. He wished the best for all social work graduates who work independently and without allegiance to existing factions.
