Online Lecture: Exploring the “Impact of War on Vulnerable Groups” by Allameh Tabataba’i University
Iranian Social Workers – Allameh Tabataba’i University is set to host the inaugural lecture in its “Social Work in Crisis and War” series. This specialized online session, titled “The Impact of War on Vulnerable Groups,” aims to delve into the profound consequences of armed conflict on the most susceptible members of society. The event will take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00 (Tehran time).
Wars, beyond their immediate and obvious devastation, consistently leave widespread and destructive impacts on the social, economic, and psychological fabric of communities. Within this context, children, women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and displaced individuals are among the groups who suffer the most from wartime crises. This lecture intends to analyze these effects from a social work perspective and propose strategies to alleviate the suffering of these vulnerable populations.
